Greetings From Your Principal

December 2018

Dear Mayer Elementary Families:

It is with great joy that I send you Season’s Greetings! It's hard to believe I am writing a December newsletter already! The first half the year went by so quickly. Cooler temperatures... disappearing daylight. The upcoming weeks can become quite overwhelming as families prepare for family gatherings, special travels, and perhaps some shopping outings in preparation for special traditions. As much as we'd all like to feel that we are organized and well-prepared for the upcoming weeks, each family deals with the stress of the holidays in different ways. Routines often fall to the wayside along with daily reading practices and consistent homework support. As a family please make sure that the rush and stresses of the holiday season do not seep into their child's daily routine and need for consistency.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers and families that support our students and staff. Your contributions and support are what makes our school and community so special, and you are making a difference in the lives of our children. On behalf of the students and staff at Mayer Elementary, I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all you do.

This year for our Turkey Trot, we exceeded our goal of $600.00 to help out our families at MES. With all your help and dedication, we made $1000.00!!!! Thank you students, parents, and community members for all your support for this year’s Turkey Trot.

Merry Christmas to all of our Wildcat families- enjoy the break and your time together. We will see you on Monday, January 7th.

With Kindest Regards,

Mrs. Leonard
